Optimization infrastructure for logistics operators

Freight Command Optimizer is a planning platform—not a black box. You define the problem, choose the solver, and review results before anything hits the yard.

Constraint modeling

Encode fleet rules, customer SLAs, equipment compatibility, and terminal capacity in a structured planning model.

Solver orchestration

Run mixed-integer, heuristic, and metaheuristic solvers with configurable time limits and solution quality targets.

Map & distance services

Integrate routing distances and geospatial context into optimization runs. Map usage is metered separately.

Multi-tenant workspaces

Separate environments for teams, regions, or business units with role-based access controls.

Quantum Lab integration

Submit assignment and selection subproblems to IonQ-backed experiments and compare results to classical baselines.

Approval controls

Require explicit approval before quantum runs or premium map services incur usage-based charges.

Classical optimization

Production solvers you can trust

The platform prioritizes mixed-integer programming and proven heuristics for dispatch, routing, and allocation. These methods are battle-tested across logistics and industrial operations.

Quantum Lab

Experimental workflows, clearly labeled

Quantum runs are optional, benchmarked, and scoped to assignment/selection subproblems. Results are compared against classical solvers—not presented as guaranteed improvements to full route planning.

FAQ

Product questions

How Freight Command Optimizer fits alongside your team and existing systems.

What does Freight Command Optimizer do?

Freight Command Optimizer is an optimization and decision-support layer for dispatch, routing, shipment selection, and resource allocation. It helps planners evaluate better options using proven classical solvers—and optional quantum experiments—without replacing your existing operational tools.

Is this replacing my dispatcher or TMS?

No. Freight Command does not replace dispatchers, planners, or an existing TMS. It augments your team with solver-backed recommendations and structured planning workflows that fit alongside the systems you already run.

What is the quantum part used for?

Quantum workflows in Quantum Lab are experimental. They target assignment and selection subproblems and are benchmarked against classical solvers so you can compare results before deciding whether to expand usage.

Does quantum optimization guarantee better results?

No. Quantum runs do not guarantee better outcomes than classical optimization on every problem or every run. Results depend on problem structure, size, and constraints—and are presented with side-by-side benchmarks for transparency.

Do I need IonQ or quantum hardware to use this?

No. Customers do not need quantum hardware. When you opt into Quantum Lab, compute runs are handled through the platform's managed experimentation layer—you review benchmarks, not infrastructure.

Can this work with CSV files before integrations?

Yes. The MVP supports manual data entry and CSV-style uploads so teams can start with existing exports from spreadsheets or operational systems before deeper TMS or API integrations are in place.

How are map, compute, and quantum costs handled?

Map lookups, compute usage, and quantum experiment runs are metered separately from base platform fees. Approval controls let you gate premium usage so variable costs are passed through only when explicitly authorized.

Is SONAR included in the MVP?

FreightWaves SONAR is not included in the MVP. The platform is designed to support market data integrations later, but initial pilots focus on your operational data and optimization workflows.

We scope pilots to a single workflow—dispatch, routing, or allocation—so you can evaluate results before a broader rollout.
